We work with a wide spectrum of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations

Founded in 1999, Soundarya Gramina Haagupattana Abhivrudhi Sansthe has been steadfast in its mission to empower rural communities, with a strong focus on vocational education and skill development for underprivileged youth and women. With over two decades of experience, our work spans across Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka, positively impacting the lives of more than 14,000 families.

At the heart of our initiatives lies the commitment to enhancing individual capabilities, enabling marginalized populations to lead lives of dignity and self-reliance. We prioritize support for communities in rural and semi-urban areas who are often left behind due to systemic socio-economic barriers.

Our Focus Groups

We work with a wide spectrum of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations, including:
• School and college dropout youth from economically weaker backgrounds
• Rural women from marginalized communities, often constrained by traditional social structures
• Destitute individuals, widows, transgender persons, and people with disabilities (PwDs)
• Victims of rape and domestic violence, offering them not just rehabilitation but also long-term livelihood support through targeted skill development programs.

Our Interventions and Training Programs

To create viable and sustainable livelihood models, we have developed and delivered localized vocational training programs tailored to the needs and aspirations of our target groups. Key skill areas include:
• Tailoring and Garment Stitching
• Beautician and Personal Care Services
• Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry
• Basic Computer and Digital Literacy
Through these trainings, we aim to foster economic independence, self-confidence, and community transformation, one individual at a time.

What We Do ?

In many rural areas, cultural and societal norms restrict the mobility of women and adolescent girls, making them financially dependent on male family members. This dependency often perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality. Recognizing this deep-rooted challenge, our organization adopted a community-based training approach, bringing skill development opportunities directly to the doorsteps of women — within their comfort zones and cultural boundaries.
